Large Drives
For more than 40 years, Tiruña has manufactured large kiln drives, ball-mills drives, tromers and rotary dryers drives.
In the case of working for an engineering firm, the product is customised using their drawings.
In the case of direct manufacturing for the end customer, it is manufactured based on the existing drive providing improvements, gear calculations and drawings designed by the technicians of Tiruña. In this case, the manufacturing instructions are Tiruña’s internal instructions.
The wheel may be manufactured both in cast version as well as mechanically-welded, the latter being those that are built in larger quantities.
Both the materials to be used as well as the treatments, surface finishes, flank hardening (Induction Hardening, Carburizing, Nitriding) are studied individually. For this preliminary study, we have powerful tools for gear calculation, finite elements analysis (FEA) and CAD programs.
Except for the stockpiling of raw materials, the entire manufacturing process of the drive is integrated within the company itself.
We are able to manufacture gears up to 7500 mm of diameter, module of 45 mm and face width of 1100mm.
